How can we help?

Most questions are answered below. If yours isn’t, send us a message and we’ll reply by email.

Vistu doesn’t provide channels, so we can’t help with what a provider includes, missing channels or a provider’s login. For those, contact your provider. We’re happy to help with anything about the app itself.

Common questions

Does Vistu come with channels?

No. Vistu is a player and TV guide. It doesn’t host, sell or provide any channels, movies or series. You add a playlist or login from a provider you already use.

Which devices does Vistu run on?

iPhone and iPad (iOS and iPadOS 17 or later), Apple TV HD and 4K (tvOS 17 or later), Android phones, tablets and foldables (Android 8.0 or later), Google TV and Android TV (Android TV 8.0 or later), and Amazon Fire TV devices running Fire OS 7 or later. Fire TV devices on Vega OS, and older ones on Fire OS 6, aren’t supported.

How do I install Vistu on a Fire TV?

Vistu isn’t in the Amazon Appstore, so you install it with the free Downloader app. The steps are on the Fire TV page.

What can I add?

An M3U playlist address, with an optional XMLTV guide address (gzip is fine), or an Xtream Codes server, username and password. If you paste a playlist link that’s really an Xtream login, Vistu offers to switch to it. You can add several sources and choose which ones supply live TV, movies or series.

The guide is empty or doesn’t match my channels.

Check the source has a guide address (Xtream logins include one). Then use Update now on the source in Settings › Sources. Channels are matched to the guide by their guide ID, so a channel with no guide ID in the playlist shows “No information”.

A channel won’t play, or stops after a moment.

Many providers only allow one stream at a time per login. Vistu closes the old stream before opening a new one, but another device using the same login will block it. With auto-heal on, Vistu retries and switches to a backup copy of the channel (an HD or FHD version with the same guide ID) when one exists.

How does Multiview work?

Open Multiview from a channel’s menu and add up to four channels. Move the highlight to choose which one you hear, and press OK to open it full screen. Each picture is its own stream, so your provider needs to allow that many connections at once.

Where are my logins stored?

Only on your device: in the Keychain on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, and encrypted with the Android Keystore on Android. Vistu connects straight to your provider; your logins and playlists are never sent to us.

How often does Vistu update my channels and guide?

Each source can update every 6, 12, 24 or 48 hours, or daily at a time you choose. If a download looks broken (much smaller than before, an error page instead of a playlist, or a cut-off guide), Vistu keeps your current channels instead of wiping them.

Please don’t include playlist addresses, usernames or passwords. If you paste a link, we remove the login details from it before saving your message.
